Enjoy a fully private Ketchikan hiking tour designed around your pace, interests, and experience level. Choose from three scenic Tongass National Forest trails and customize your experience with optional stops at beaches, lookouts, or shopping. Whether you're looking for a solo adventure, a family outing, or a more personal Alaska experience, this custom hike allows your group to explore at your own pace with a local guide. Led by owner and local guide, Dawn, each hike offers a chance to slow down, connect with nature, and experience the quiet beauty of the Tongass National Forest while learning about the importance of preserving this unique environment. While all 3 of the trails to choose from are easy-to-moderate, they are unpaved. This is not recommended for those who have health issues or injuries that require help or frequent stopping. This trail does have hills and loose gravel. Check the weather before arriving in port. Things you need to know - * You will be provided a cinch backpack, a bottle of water, and a light healthy snack. If you would like to purchase the cinch pack there will be an option after the hike. * You will be met at the Visitors Center on berth 2 or at Ward Cove if prescheduled. * Dress accordingly. Layers, coats, and rain gear may be needed as Southeast Alaska can have very unpredictable weather. * Shoes and socks that are comfortable and that you do not mind getting dirty or wet. Athletic/cross-training/running shoes with good tread are fine for most or hiking shoes or trail shoes. Casual shoes or canvas shoes like Converse are not recommended. * This is an alcohol-free, drug-free, and tobacco-free tour. * We will be following the 7 principles of Leave No Trace. There will be bathroom facilities near the trailhead but not along the trails. If there is a need to go during the hike, WAG bags will be provided. * Island Girl Hiking Co. is committed to making sure that you arrive back at the berth before your re-embark time.
