Experience the beauty of Ketchikan's Tongass National Forest with a guided hike along the Connell Lake Trail from Island Girl Hiking Co. This easy-to-moderate trail offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains, providing the perfect backdrop for a soul-inspiring adventure. Led by the owner, Dawn, this hike through the Tongass National Forest will immerse you in nature and allow you to let go of stress. Learn about the importance of preserving this national treasure while breathing in the fresh air and connecting with nature. While this trail is easy-to-moderate, it is unpaved. This is not recommended for those who have health issues or injuries that require help or frequent stopping. This trail does have hills and loose gravel. Check the weather before arriving in port. Things you need to know - * You will be provided a cinch backpack, a bottle of water, and a light healthy snack such as fresh fruit, granola, trail mix, jerky. * If you would like to purchase the cinch pack there will be an option both at checkout and after the hike. * You will be met at the Visitors Center on berth 2 or at Ward Cove if prescheduled. * Dress accordingly. Layers, coats, and rain gear may be needed as Southeast Alaska can have very unpredictable weather. * Shoes and socks that are comfortable and that you do not mind getting dirty or wet. Athletic/cross-training/running shoes with good tread are fine for most or hiking shoes or trail shoes. Casual shoes or canvas shoes like Converse are not recommended. * This is an alcohol-free, drug-free, and tobacco-free tour. * We will be following the 7 principles of Leave No Trace. There will be bathroom facilities near the trailhead but not along the trails. If there is a need to go during the hike, WAG bags will be provided. * Island Girl Hiking Co. is committed to making sure you arrive back at the berth before your re-embark time.
